SYMMETRY
My premise is symmetry
Original in the beginning
Broken by an introduction
Of a dialectical ingredient
Setting in motion the ever
Seeking of an ideal harmony.
First glimpsed by me in fog
Before the Cliffs of Dover
In the sea’s calm at dawn.
Then later before the Lord
In his temple, holy order
Set before us to see beyond
The veil, grasping fragments
Putting together lost vision.
Then the swell of the ocean
Gathering strength before
The hidden reefs causing
The energy to rise, breaking
Majestic thunder, turbulence
And undertow. Coming to
Integrity in unselfish love
Never ceasing and relentless
Patience, humility, kindness
Reverence before the storm
Tolerance of others, selling
All to bless the poor broken
Folk. Seeking Zion in a starry
Night, to the whippoorwill.
