LESSON OF PANDORA
Intertwined in a dream: a wild web
Of wet leaves, cyclone lashed
Branches bending, wondrous robe
Wall dressed, hung with round
Beads that glisten to lightning’s flash
Wildness of water wind haunting
Whose life half lifts the lid
On this storm not invited but imagined
Listen to the roar, we’ve unleashed
Screaming at our door, shaking
Window frames, lifting roof shakes
Tearing away our days labors
Nails sprung, splinters splayed
Oh terror of days end, leaving us
In the weeds.
