the idea merged into another
lost train of thought, walked off
to dig potatoes, scratch soil
turning a new page, kneading
dough, pastry pans filling hot
ovens, in the ways of sugar
being refined into alcohol
temperature’s fire converting
cane in exit from, steaming
planes receive seasons of
hurricanes in winds of change
the approach of Alzheimer’s
without a guitar to stimulate
aging neurons to save pages of text.
