CIRCLE III

With curiosity I have seen
Satellite photos of giant
Galactic spirals of cloud
Moving across the sea
Objectively hearing reports
Of preparation, destruction
Until my nerves swerved
With the rush, raining
A tropical depression near
Stirring the Caribbean
An immense circle fueled
By convection to become
A fury, ripping off roofs
Snapping roots, exploding
Transformers, my windows
Tied shut, no light in my cave
No shadows, only the constant
Scream of frame rattling devils
Trying to enter, to rip courage
From a gentle heart
Agitated voices waking me
Before I drowned in the deluge.
