ORDER III
Today I sense an equatorial
transition into summer, bold
blue serious billowing cumulus
fresh virgin green air fluttering
new leaves, first birds leaving
their nest to test their faith
as tithes are paid, their parent’s
sacrifice left to the wind, lifting
another generation, sealed in
Nature’s eternal cycle as dust
of years settles on my temples
the lament of hours mourned
with hope in graying afternoon
sky brings life sustaining rain.
